He is approximately 5 years old. He weighs 23kgs, is 55cm paw to back and 88cm long from nose to base of tail.

He is interested in the wild cats but shows no aggression. We are unsure how react to a cat in the home / a running cat.

Charlie lives with a male and a female dog. They are fed separately as Charlie will let them eat his food.

Charlie will be best with another dog or a family who are around and he is not left on his own for too long.

He is good either way the children he has met (ages 8 and 15).

Charlie is a loving, friendly and active boy who loves to be around people. He needs some help building his confidence.

Charlie learns quickly and is praise orientated charlie can be vocal at times but he is quiet in the kennel.

He has recently had surgery to remove Cherry eye.

phoenix

This boy is Phoenix, 1.5 years old and he is already a true survivor.

We don't know where he came from or what happened to him, but due to extreme neglect, he has lost one eye and is recovering from a severe skin infection and malnutrition.

Upon arriving to the pound, he could barely move. He was terribly terribly thin, a big part of his skin was covered in 1cm layer of flies larvae, and his eye had a severe hit.

Phoenix is only a pupster. He has a long life ahead of him and he has found the strength to carry on now he is receiving vet treatment at the pound.

His skin infection has pretty much cleared and new healthy skin is growing back, his eye has been removed, and he is gaining weight slowly.

Phoenix is a beautiful Griffon, he is desperate for a chance so he can get out of the pound and see the kind side of the world at last. He is very sweet to people and to other doggies.  He cannot live with cats.

He is currently in Spain but he can travel if a suitable home is found.

rufa

Rufa is currently in foster in Nottinghamshire.

This beautiful girl is Rufa. She is estimated to be 9 years old (DOB 31/7/2016).  She is being rehomed due to a change in circumstances and through no fault of her own.

Rufa is a lovely playful girl who loves a Teddy, she loves other dogs, children and people. She doesn't know how to play fetch with a ball but will fetch a teddy.

Rufa loves a cuddle but also loves her own space. She has some recall but only ever in an enclosed field because she will run if she fancies it.

She can sit, lie down and give her paw and although not possessive with food with people will give a warning to another dog.

It is not known if Rufa is friendly with cats. She will need a secure garden and will have no fear going out of an open door if she sees an opportunity.

lenda

Lenda is in UK foster in the West Midlands and she arrived in the UK in November 2024.

Lenda is 7 years old (DOB 14 June 2017).  Lenda is blind but she is a very brave, happy girl. Lenda was found in a dreadful state, so thin and emaciated.  She was soon gaining weight in Spain once she received regular food.

This is from her foster mum:

Lenda is a confident, lively dog who likes to explore even if she can't see! She had our house and garden mapped out within a few days and rarely bumps into things unless we close doors. She does know if we say careful it means to slow down a bit. I can honestly say 95% of the time now I forget she's blind. She enjoys walks and doesn't really pull on lead. Adores her cuddly toys and will have a chew and play with them but hasn't damaged one yet! She is a huge character who likes to be where you are in the day so she can hear what's going on. She is sleeping alone downstairs with a special cuddly toy that comes out at night and classic FM on very low. She did struggle to start with the night-time routine at the start but seems to be in a good routine now and is ok for 8/9 hours. On walks she will happily say hello to people and dogs but isn't keen on excitable dogs circling her and will give a sharp bark to tell them to back off which is totally understandable. For that reason we feel if someone was interested who had another dog a calm dog would probably be best, although we suspect she has had pups so she may be ok with a younger submissive dog. Shes very affectionate and will make you laugh and is in no way held back by her lack of sight.

She loves spending time in the garden stalking birds, the resident ones have clocked her now and are always one step ahead. It's quite comical watching her zooming around while the birds go and sit on a higher perch to watch her.

She can be mouthy when she gets excited especially first thing in the morning when she's so excited you're downstairs and food is imminent. She doesn't really put pressure on but it's a work in progress to redirect it. She's probably having her delayed puppyhood.

Lenda can live with another dog but she really likes human attention.  She would need a home with someone around a lot to settle her in and give her the attention she truly deserves.
