This sweet lady is Tane. Tane is 10 years old, her dad died and she has been brought to the pound. She’s not in a shelter, residence or dog hotel. She’s in a pound, at her age.
Tane is shy with strangers, not nervous but shy when she doesn’t know. She has been living in a home all her life and now she sees herself in a cage, surrounded by noise, strangers, other dogs, humidity, a cold floor.
Tane has a very good character with other doggies, she walks good on the lead, she doesn’t need a lot of exercise obviously, or a lot of activities, she just needs a warm home, a family and a place to retire with a bit of dignity.

frida
Frida is in West Sussex in foster.
Frida is 2 years old (DOB 10/4/2022). She was a hunting dog in Spain and was given up by a hunter. Frida is 60cm high and 110cm long.
This is from her foster mum:
Frida is quite a large hound. She has settled well with me. From being scared of everything, in only 10 days she is learning to trust me and friends with dogs who come to visit. She is willing to make friends easily.
Frida eats well, she is on Complete food at the moment but raw food would also be good for her. She has learned that treats are nice, so far she has tried dehydrated duck strips, fish cubes and Rabbit ears. She likes goat milk for "afters" but not goat yogurt at the moment.
She has been left successfully for short periods of time. Very large crate recommended as thus is her own "safe place" She has had no lead training but with a gentle leader head collar she is doing better. That's training in progress.
She likes being groomed which is good for bonding. She needs a daily groom as her coat gathers all sorts of decorations.
She hasn't been cat tested. Or small animal tested.
Considering her background I wouldn't recommend a home with young children.
She definitely needs a very well fenced garden and altho I have 6' deer stock fencing I see her nose in the air hoping for a scent.
Frida update 10 November 2024:
Frida has now been with me in foster care for nearly 4 months. She took a while to settle in, maybe there was a language barrier, but for the last few weeks she has responded well to simple requests. She will now sit for a treat, I thought she would never get that, her recall from the garden is now almost excellent, occasionally she will finish inspecting the boundaries of her small world.
She is 2.5 years young but has the mind of a puppy and always willing to learn and to please. Just like a puppy. Her needs are simple, she has her large crate as her safe place but recently has been spending evenings in my living room with rescues Sally and Honey. She loves watching animal programmes on TV, Monkey World is a favourite!
She eats well, is on complete food, she's learning to like various pieces of fruit and vegetables, she would convert to raw meat with no problem. She has never wee'd or pooped in the house or in her crate, sleeps on her own downstairs at night and always quiet. She hardly ever barks. A large well fenced garden would be appreciated. One minus, she isn't good walking on lead but she loves running free in a well fenced area. She mixes with other dogs really nicely but hasn't been cat or small animal tested.
