For the adoption process, we are looking for homes that can keep the dogs secure and safe. We also need an enclosed secure garden with a fence 5ft minimum. Keep them on a lead at all times but you can use longer leads to give them more exercise or use an enclosed secure field. Unfortunately, we do not rehome dogs with children under 8 years old.
Once you find a dog that you feel might suit your family and lifestyle then please contact us. One of the team will give you a call to discuss to find out if the dog is the right fit for you and to find out more about you. Then we would proceed with the home check process.
Our adoption donations range from £195-£245 depending if the dog is a puppy or an adult or which shelter the dog comes from. The donation includes neutering (for adults), general vaccinations & rabies vaccination, microchip, pet passport, blood tests for Mediterranean diseases including Brucellosis Canis, flea and worm treatment plus customs charges to bring the dog to the UK. The fee depends on which shelter the dog is from.
The next stage would be a telephone chat/interview to assess if you are suitable for your chosen dog or if that dog is suitable for you. After this then it will be determined if you move to the home check stage.
On approval of the home check, an adoption contract and advice notes will be emailed to you and we would prepare the dog for the next available transport.
The transport company (which is DEFRA approved) charge £300 for England & Wales but it is more for Scotland. This is payable to Spanish Griffon Rescue a week before travelling. The van has a tracker so adopters can track the journey (like the Santa app).
We change the microchip of the dog over to your ownership on the day of arrival, the paperwork will follow in the post so you do not need to do anything, there is a £2.40 charge for this which is added to the adoption fee. We are non profit making and the charge cover what it costs us.
We invite you to join our adopter group where you will receive a warm welcome. It is a great support group and people love to see your updates. We provide full rescue back up and are on hand any time to help you (even years down the line). You are not left on your own after you adopt a dog with us.
